Remembrance Sunday

Sunday 9th November will see services in all three of our churches. For details of the services please take a look at our ‘Benefice Services’ page. This year, the Memorial Service at the Wayside cross on Shawford Down will take place at the going down of the sun at 4pm.

Confirmations

Are you interested in taking the next steps? Perhaps confirmation is the right step for you. We are hosting a confirmation service at Hursley church on Sunday 17th May 2026. If you feel that this is something you would like to find out more about, speak to Patrick or one of our churchwardens.

Otterbourne Conservation Group

There is an exhibition of the archives on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November from 10am to 5pm in Otterbourne Village Hall. Come and see pictures of local wartime heroes, Sponder’s Mede, the founding of our group and the village as it was in the past.

Otterbourne Christmas Fair

Our annual Fair will be held on 29th November between 12-3 pm at Otterbourne Village Hall. Further details will follow. All Soul’s day

There will be a benefice service of remembrance at St. Matthew’s, Otterbourne at 6 pm on the 2nd November. Everyone who wishes to recall a loved one is invited to place the name on a candle during the service. All welcome.

Our churches

Autumn equinox

On Sunday 21st September at 6.30pm, you are welcome to join Patrick and his family at The Rectory in Otterbourne for mulled cider, hot chocolate, crafts and games to welcome in the colder months. Do come along and join the fun.

Sunday 31st August

This Sunday will be the fifth Sunday of the month. Therefore, Patrick will be taking a Benefice service at 9.30am in Otterbourne. There will be no service at Compton or Hursley this week. Come along and join us and enjoy a cup of coffee after the service in St. Matthew’s church room.

Services for Sunday 20th July

There will be a Family service held in Otterbourne and a Parish Communion service held in Hursley on Sunday. Both services will begin at 9.30 am. There will also be a ‘Shorter Communion’ service held in Compton at 11 am. Everyone is welcome to attend and will receive a warm, friendly welcome,

Sunday 13th July

A service for the benefice on Sunday will be held in Hursley at 11 am. There will no no services at Otterbourne or Compton.

Coffee morning

Our next coffee mornimng will be held on Monday 14th July from 10-11 am in aid of ‘Senses’. ‘Senses’ is a charity who support disabled people, especially deaf and/or blind children. Come along to St. Matthew’s chucrh room for a catch up with friends over coffee and biscuits. Everyone will receive a warm welcome.

Summer Festival

The Festival will be held on Otterbourne Recreation Ground between 12 and 3pm. Come along and join the fun. There will be live music, dancing, games, a BBQ, refreshments, drinks and a bar. It is going to be hot so please remember your suncream and hat.
