The Memorials Walk –
In aid of your church, your churchwardens’ have challenged themselves to walk from Otterbourne War Memorial to Hursley’s Memorial, then on to Compton’s Memorial, which is on Shawford Down, before returning to St Matthew’s. About 10 miles, much of it cross-country. They will be joined by the wardens of Compton and Hursley.
They will be meeting at St Matthew’s at 8.45am for a 9am start, then departing Hursley at approximately 11 am, Shawford Down at around 1 pm before returning to St Matthew’s Otterbourne by 2pm.
If you would like to join them on their walk, to support and encourage them, you would be very welcome. Just turn up at the Otterbourne War Memorial by the start time or join in anywhere along our route. For younger families, the section back from Shawford Down to St Matthew’s is suitable for most buggies. Hot soup and refreshments provided at the finish.
