Hampshire and the Islands Historic Churches Trust Ride+Stride is an annual event organised by the National Ride+Stride Trust. Its purpose is to save the heritage of our beautiful church buildings for future generations.
A reminder that an organised walk will be leaving from St Matthews Otterbourne at 9.30 this Saturday 11 September and will continue to walk to All Saints Church Hursley. Walkers will leave Hursley at approximately 11.30 for the second leg of the walk to All Saints Church Compton. The group will leave Compton at approximately 2pm to return to Otterbourne. There is a bring your own picnic event organised at All Saints Church Hursley from 3pm – 7pm to which all are welcome and refreshments will be available at all three of the churches during the day. All residents in the villages are encouraged and welcomed to organise their own walks on the day and to support their local church by nominating them on the participant form (available at their church or at the Nisa Post Office Otterbourne). If you can’t walk on the day do consider going along to your local church this Saturday between 10 and 3pm and making a small donation to a Trust which is helping to save the heritage of our church buildings.
