“The wardens of the benefice and I are keen that we should take all sensible steps to protect people during the period of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are therefore following the advice of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York and suspending sharing of the Common Cup. This is not something we do lightly, but feel it is the correct action at this stage.
Please follow the already publicised advice to avoid shaking hands, etc., and take all reasonable precautions, washing hands as you arrive and leave the church. Sadly, we have not been able to obtain hand sanitiser, except for the very small bottles used by the celebrant and servers.
Pastoral visiting is difficult, a potential source of infection as well as comfort, but please let me know if you do become infected, we want to know how you are, and what ways it might be possible to offer you support.”
