We meet monthly at 8pm on the first Wednesday of the month in Compton C of E Primary School, Compton Street. This month we shall be reading together and discussing two Psalms.

5.30 p.m. Carols For All at All Saints’, Hursley
10.30 p.m. Midnight Mass at All Saints’, Compton
11.30 p.m. Midnight Mass in both St. Matthew’s, Otterbourne and All Saints’, Hursley

The Family Carol Service will be held at 9.30 a.m. and the traditional 9 Lessons and Carols Service will take place at 5.30 p.m., both on Sunday 17th December at St. Matthew’s Church, Otterbourne.

A collection of songs and readings featuring local artists and children, led by the Itchen Folk Band. will be held on Friday 6th December at 7.30 p.m. at All Saints Church, Compton. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served during the interval.
We are raising funds for the Christian Aid/DEC appeal for South Sudan Refugees. There is no entry fee although donations will be gratefully received.
Parking will be available at the adjacent school and the church field.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th December at 8 p.m. in Compton School.
This month we shall be looking at the Gospel of St. Luke, Chapters 1-2.
Our meetings are open to all, people of faith, or people of no faith, but who are curious about what there might be to discover within the pages of the Bible.
The Christmas Tree Festival will be held on Saturday 9th December from 11 a.m at All Saints’ Church, Hursley. You can admire trees decorated by various local groups and there will be children’s activities and much more. Do come along.
You are invited to supper on Tuesday 5th December at 7.30 p.m. or lunch on Thursday 7th December at 12.30 p.m. at The Rectory. Please let Alayne know if you would like to join us. Everyone is welcome.
The next Bags2School collection will take place on Friday 17th November at Compton Primary School.
If you have any unwanted curtains, bedlinen, towels, clothing, shoes, belts or soft toys that you would like to donate, please put them in a bag labelled ‘Bags2School’ and either drop your donation to All Saints’ Church, Compton a few days beforehand or leave bagged items outside the school gates from 8.30 a.m. on the morning of 17th November.
Any monies raised will be shared between All Saints Church, Compton and Compton Primary School.
This month we will be looking at 1 Samuel chapters 16-31, the beginning of the story of David.

The annual Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 25th November from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. in Otterbourne Village Hall. If you can offer help on the day either to set up the hall, run a stall or help to serve refreshments, please contact Rachel or Vera for more information. Alternatively, come along on the day to visit Father Christmas’ Grotto, browse the stalls and enjoy a light lunch.
