Come and join us on Saturday 15th December between 11 am – 4 pm in All Saints’ Church, Hursley for a day of fun. Our theme this year is Christmas hits. Vote for your favourite tree and enjoy the festive atmosphere. We will b offering hot dogs and soup at our community cafe as well as the usual drinks and cakes.
Come and enjoy stalls, games, musical entertainment and children’s arts and crafts. Richard Baker will also be selling his Finnish candles outside the church again. Tell your friends and family and make a day of it or pop in when you can.
This year’s Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 24th November from 12-3 pm in Otterbourne Village Hall. Father Christmas will be attendance during the afternoon!.
This will be followed in the evening by a Quiz Night starting at 7.30 pm. Tickets are priced at £10 each which includes a fish/sausage and chip supper. If you would like to come along or for more details, please speak to William.
The next ‘Bag 2 School’ event will be held on Friday 16th November at Compton All Saints’ Primary School. Any donations of clothing, towels, curtains, bed-sheets, shoes, cuddly toys, handbags and jewellery (no duvets, coat hangers, books, pilllows or cushions, bathmats, industrial garments or wet/damp clothing please) can be left outside the main school gate at 8 am on the day or stored in Compton church ahead of the event. Collection sacks are available in the entrance to Compton Church, but items can be put in any type of watertight bag and labelled ‘Bag 2 School’.
This charitable scheme works with schools to raise money from textile donations, which get sold to countries mainly in Eastern Europe and Africa for recycling.
A service to Commemorate the Signing of the Armistice is to take place at 6 pm on 11th November at All Saint’s Church, Hursley. It will be a service of words and music to mark this important anniversary,
