Harvest donations for the Winchester Basics Bank

We have recently received the following letter from a Trustee of the Basics Bank:

Dear all,
As autumn approaches, we traditionally turn our thoughts to Harvest, and in the past you have been kind enough to arrange a Harvest collection in aid of the Winchester Basics Bank.
Due to the fantastic ongoing generosity of the local community, we currently find ourselves in the fortunate position to have sufficient stock of most food items.  So if you are unable to arrange a collection due to current circumstances, please don’t worry.
If however, you do wish to arrange a Harvest collection, we ask that you only donate the items that we are in specific need of.  I have attached a flier with the details.  We would kindly ask you not to donate dried pasta, soup, baked beans, tinned tomatoes or UHT milk as we already have plenty of these items. Also we cannot accept homemade food or items past their best before date.

Please note, if you do donate to us this year we may share your donations with other local charities such as Trinity or the Nightshelter and other local food banks.

With many thanks for your ongoing support.

Donation points in the local supermarkets are emptied regularly by
volunteers (see the Winchester Basics Bank website or Facebook page for donation points and more information.).
If you wish to make a donation directly, in order to minimise social
interaction, please take it to the temporary sorting site in the Vineyard Church, Bar End on a Tuesday or Friday between 10 am – 3pm.
